Here is a list of the world's most
intriguing and perilous locations. These are the destinations to go if you want
to spice up your vacation with a little bit of risk. Avoid at all costs if not!
#1 North Yungas also Known as "Death Road"
There are many reasons why North Yungas
Road is known as "Death Road." Fog, landslides, falls, and cliffs
that drop 2,000 feet (610 meters) at each bend make driving up or down this
43-mile (69-kilometer) switchback extremely dangerous.
#2 Ilha Da Queimada Grande (Snake Island)
#3 Lake Natron – The Most Uninhabitable Areas On Earth
The water in Lake Natron is extremely
saline, can reach 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and has a pH between 9 and 10.5; it
is caustic enough to burn the skin and eyes of non-adapted animals, calcify
bones, and erase ink from printed materials.
#4 Alpine Refuge, Located at 2760 meters in Monte Cristallo, Italy
Monte Cristallo is a long, concave ridge in
the Italian Dolomites that has four summits that are higher than 3,000 meters.
Heavy fighting between Italy and Austria-Hungary took place in the mountain
range that is now a part of the "Natural Park of the Ampezzo
Dolomites" during World War I.
Massive artillery was used by the opposing
armies, they dug tunnels under each other's defenses, and they blasted mountain
peaks, triggering avalanches that claimed hundreds of lives. The rock galleries
they dug are still accessible today. It is amazing and terrifying at the same
time.
#5 Death Valley on the California and Nevada Border with Extreme Heat
These moving masses of superheated air pass
through the valley at extremely high temperatures.
#6 Skeleton Coast Spread Across South of Angola to the North of Namibia
The skeleton coast is known as one of the "worst places on earth," where survival is practically impossible, due to its harsh climate.
The area is covered in animal bones (whales, elephants, turtles, seals, etc.), making it appear sour in addition to the harsh climate.
#7 Danakil Desert - A Volcanically Active Area
The 136,956 square kilometer (52,879 square mile) Desert of Danakil is located in the Afar Triangle. There are a few Afar residents who work in the salt mines. The area is well-known for its volcanoes and extremely high temperatures, which regularly reach 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit).
#8 The Turkmenistan Darvaza Gas Crater (Gates of Hell)
An underground natural gas field is the
Turkmenistan Darvaza Gas Crater. It has been burning continuously since 1971,
when geologists lit it on fire to stop the spread of methane gas.
It is situated in the middle of the Karakum Desert, close to the town of Derweze, 260 kilometers north of Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.
#9 North Sentinel Island
One of the most dangerous tourist
destinations in the world is North Sentinel Island, which is part of the
Andaman Islands. The locals have been leading a primitive lifestyle and
avoiding all forms of contact with the outside world.
The locals on this island aren't used to meeting new people, so when visitors do, they're seen as a threat and treated violently. One of the strangest islands on Earth is this one.
#10 Madidi National Park - A Jungle Paradise
It is strongly advised against solo visitors
visiting Madidi forest due to the abundance of predators there. The forest is
one of the largest protected areas in the world and ranks among the most
dangerous places to visit because it is home to some of the most dangerous
animals, birds, and plants.
